Success behind the vision to provide the most affordable eye care in Cebu City

As their digital marketing strategist, I’ve been with Sight Saver for quite some time now—from designing their logo and marketing collaterals to managing their social media page. I have witnessed how they started, strived, and grew from the very beginning up until the present.

 

Their story began with very humble beginnings. Just like them, I had no prior experience in the optical clinic industry. When I was tapped to handle their digital marketing operations, I hesitated because of the technicalities since I was not “programmed” with clinical jargons; it felt too “foreign” to me, as my experience focuses in the food and beverage industry.

 

It was the year 2020, during the COVID-19 era. While everyone was busy making a living to make ends meet, who in their right mind would risk everything to start an optical business?

Looking back, it’s touching to see how things turned out after that bold decision made by Jill and Justine—two individuals from different fields. Justine is a registered optometrist, while Jill is a sales and marketing manager with a background in the food service industry. Jill had just resigned from her previous company right before the lockdown.

 

Yoko Ono once said, “A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.”

 

Jill and Justine joined forces, took advantage their individual strengths to navigate the unknown—leading to the birth of Sight Saver on October 28, 2020. It started as a single, stand-alone clinic in Colon, Cebu City, Philippines, a testament to their shared vision and determination.

Their dark, or maybe their rough days, are what drove and motivated them to seek the spur of light at the tiniest of chances.

Who Is Sight Saver?

Sight Saver Eye Care Center  is a family-owned business built from scratch, where patients are treated like family. It’s an incredibly rewarding feeling to be able to provide for all their needs with love and passionate care—isn’t it?

 

Quality eye care isn’t about just offering cheap or affordable frames or services; anyone could achieve and compete with such offering, but a service that goes above and beyond
by educating patients about their visual needs and giving them a safe space with no discrimination is a different story. 
  

 

The humble beginnings of Jill and Justine are reflected in the kind of service they offer to their patients. Providing budget-friendly prices is both humbling and fulfilling, especially when patients leave satisfied and with a happy impression. This fuels their motivation to expand further and pursue their goal of providing quality eye care to everyone in need—regardless of age—at a price they can afford.

Authors Note: This has become one of my biggest achievements in my marketing career. From designing marketing banners, Facebook posts, and captions to strategizing promotions and even conducting product shoots, every effort has contributed to its success. And I can’t believe that, after five years, the brand has continued to grow and expand across Cebu and more to come!
